God calls everyone to make disciples throughout all nations. Additionally, He has given each believer the ability to serve others and has created us with spiritual gifts. First Baptist Church of Eden offers ways for you to give of these gifts within the church, in our community, across our nation, and throughout the world.
Boys and Girl’s Club: Volunteers give time and help accomplish the mission to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens”. Several FBC members help with the homework program, tutoring and mentoring local youth.
Dan Valley Missionary Baptist Association: providing a network for churches in the promotion of church health and missions in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Habitat: bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Help, Inc. Center Against Violence: providing services to victims of violence, as well as unemployed and underemployed residents of Rockingham County.
Home of Refuge Outreach, Inc.: committed to individual assistance and service by providing temporary shelter, hope and encouragement, as well as inspiration and spiritual guidance.
The Lord’s Pantry: providing weekly food service to those in need. Volunteers can help fill food bags and donors can drop off monetary and non-perishable food donations at the food pantry at 602 N Bridge Street, Eden, NC 27288. For more information, call (336) 623-1504.
Meals on Wheels: Volunteers prepare and deliver meals to homebound seniors in the local community, providing the seniors with companionship and a warm, friendly smile when they arrive at the door. There are numerous local volunteer opportunities at Meals on Wheels programs and people of varied interests and abilities can help – hands-on or behind the scenes.
NC Baptist Men (NCBM): desires to help church members get involved in missions and ministry in the name of Jesus Christ. Our vision is “Every Christian sharing God’s love with hurting people through word and deed.” Baptist Men’s projects at FBC include annual workdays, the White Christmas in gathering, and so much more.
Rockingham Pregnancy Care Center: investing in the lives of women, children, and families by establishing and promoting healthy life patterns.
Rolling Ridge Riding: dedicated to providing free therapy based horseback riding and educational tutoring/instruction to physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged children in Rockingham County.
Salvation Army: Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a range of social services: food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children.
WMU: WMU enables our members to participate personally in missions projects as well as develop a missions lifestyle. Monthly item collections are placed outside the church library and other mission projects are completed throughout the year.
World Changers: making disciples by providing missions experiences that develop the heart of students for serving others and sharing the gospel so they can change the city…change the world.
